Our Patroness - St. Cecilia
Cecilia was one of the most venerated martyrs of the early church. She was a Roman citizen and follower of the new Christian faith. Cecilia was killed some time around 160 to 180 AD because of her belief in Christ.

Much of Cecilia's story has been handed down through legend and apocryphal writings which talk of the conversions attributed to her, as well as her death.

One of these legends is the account of the conversion of her husband. Cecilia's parents had arranged for her to marry a Roman noble, Valerian. She refused the marriage, for she had consecrated herself to God. The end result was her father ordering her to marry. Cecilia had separated herself from the wedding festivities, praying for help from God.
